Asia Tech Wire (Aug 6) -- The European Commission announced on Monday that TikTok has committed to permanently withdrawing the TikTok Lite rewards program from the EU market.

The move helps to address issues raised in a lawsuit filed by the EC on April 22 and ensures TikTok's compliance with the Digital Services Act (DSA).

TikTok has committed to permanently withdrawing the rewards feature from the EU and will not launch any other circumvention programs.

Any future breach of the commitment will immediately constitute a breach of the DSA and may result in a fine, according to the EC.

With this decision, the EC ended the case it filed against TikTok in April.
