Asia Tech Wire (Sep 12) -- Dutch chipmaker NXP Semiconductors N.V. will invest more than $1 billion in India over the next few years, according to Reuters.
Speaking at SEMICON India 2024 near New Delhi on Wednesday, NXP Chief Executive Officer Kurt Sievers said the company pledges to double its research and development investment in India over the next few years, which will be well over $1 billion.
He also revealed that NXP is in talks with India's automotive and other industries.
NXP has four semiconductor design centers in India and employs about 3,000 people.
