Asia Tech Wire (July 25) -- SK hynix on Thursday reported its revenues of 16.4 trillion won in the second quarter of 2024, more than doubling.
Among them, revenue from high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips grew more than 250%.
The South Korean chipmaker also saw operating profit exceed expectations in the second quarter, reaching 5.47 trillion won, with an operating margin of 33%, led by higher DRAM and NAND prices.
SK hynix said it will mass produce its next-generation 12-layer HBM3E chips in the third quarter, and that HBM3E products will account for about half of all its HBM chip sales this year.
