Asia Tech Wire (Aug 9) -- SK hynix CEO Kwak Noh-Jung expects the memory chip market to remain active until early next year.
Kwak said this is due to strong demand for high-performance memory chips such as HBM, and that the memory chip market will remain optimistic for some time yet.
The Korean chipmaker believes that demand for memory chips will continue to grow next year as the artificial intelligence (AI) market expands, and has formulated a strategy to deal with it aggressively.
SK hynix plans to supply samples of 12-layer HBM3E to major customers and start mass production this quarter, and will launch 12-layer HBM4, which was developed in cooperation with TSMC, in the second half of next year.
