Asia Tech Wire (June 27) -- An executive from Chinese smartphone maker Honor has denied rumors that the company is adopting Huawei's Kirin chip.
Recent market rumors have claimed that Honor phones will adopt Huawei's Kirin chip, even mentioning specific phone model and chip model.
In response, Harrison Jiang, Honor's chief marketing officer (CMO) for China, said on Chinese social media platform Weibo on Thursday that the rumors are "pure nonsense."
Although Honor used to be a sub-brand of Huawei, it officially broke away from Huawei in November 2021 and started competing with it in the smartphone industry.
