Asia Tech Wire (Sep 19) -- An analyst has raised the shipment forecast for Huawei's tri-fold phone Mate XT to 1 million units this year.

Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at TF International Securities, said in a report on Thursday that the latest supply chain survey pointed out that the 2024 shipment forecast for Huawei's tri-fold phone Mate XT has been raised to 1 million units from 500,000 units.

However, he emphasized that attention needs to be paid to whether the hot demand for the product will continue after it goes on sale on September 20th.

Kuo pointed out that no other Android brands are planning to follow Huawei's lead in launching a tri-fold phone, with the biggest concern being durability.
