Former Rockwell Collins CEO considered for Boeing CEO
Jul.29,2024

Asia Tech Wire (July 29) -- Boeing is seriously considering naming former Rockwell Collins CEO Kelly Ortberg as its new chief executive officer, according to The Air Current.

Spirit AeroSystems CEO Pat Shanahan and Boeing COO Stephanie Pope are also candidates for the position of Boeing CEO, the report said.

A series of air accidents involving Boeing airplanes so far this year have triggered an extensive management reshuffle at the airplane manufacturing giant.

Boeing announced at the end of March this year that its chief executive officer, the head of its commercial airplanes division and its chairman would all be leaving the company.

Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun will resign at the end of 2024, and board chairman Larry Kellner will not run for re-election, leaving the board at the company's annual meeting in May, according to a statement.

In addition, Stan Deal, Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO, will leave the company, effective immediately, and Pope will replace him.
