Asia Tech Wire (Aug 7) -- Boeing said it is working toward a goal of restoring 737 MAX production to 38 units per month.

The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) held a hearing Tuesday on a January accident involving a Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft.

Boeing's monthly 737 MAX production dropped to single digits after the accident and is now holding at about 20 aircraft per month, said Elizabeth Lund, senior vice president of quality for Boeing's Commercial Airplanes unit, speaking at the hearing.

Lund said the company is working hard to meet its goal of restoring monthly production of 38 units of the airplane.
