Tencent's Honor of Kings limits gaming time for minors

Asian Tech Press -- The operating team of "Honor of Kings", Tencent Holdings Ltd (0700.HKG)'s flagship game, released an announcement on Wednesday to upgrade its game health system to ramp up the limit on playing time for minors.

In the announcement, Tencent said that on the basis of the relevant provisions of the National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA)'s Notice on Preventing Minors from Indulging in Online Games, the company will upgrade the health system rules of "Honor of Kings" in order to further enhance the protection of minors.

Among them, in terms of gaming time, minors are prohibited from playing between 10 :00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. daily. They are only allowed to play for 2 hours a day on public holidays and 1 hour daily at other times.

Regarding game consumption, users aged under 12 are prohibited from topping up the game. For users between the ages of 12 and 16, the single top-up limit is 50 yuan and the monthly top-up cap is 200 yuan. And users over the age of 16 are limited to a single top-up of RMB 100 and a monthly top-up of RMB 400, respectively.

In addition, if IOS users experience the game in visitor mode, the accumulated gaming time of the same hardware device will not exceed 1 hour within 15 days, and they cannot recharge.
