Sungrow announces signing of world's largest energy storage project

Asia Tech Wire (July 16) -- Chinese solar inverter & energy storage system provider Sungrow (300274.SZ) on Tuesday announced the signing of an energy storage project with Saudi Arabia-based investment company Algihaz with a total capacity of up to 7.8 GWh.

The project's three sites are in the Najran, Madaya and Khamis Mushait regions of Saudi Arabia, with deliveries beginning in 2024.

Notably, the signed project is also currently the largest energy storage project in the world.

The company did not disclose the exact amount of the deal.

For the project, Sungrow said it will deploy more than 1,500 units of its PowerTitan 2.0 liquid-cooled energy storage system, which officially debuted only in October last year.
