Asia Tech Wire (July 29) -- Chinese solar module manufacturer JinkoSolar expected its Saudi Arabia project to start production in early 2026.
Two weeks ago, JinkoSolar announced the establishment of a joint venture in Saudi Arabia to build a 10GW high-efficiency cell and module project, with a total investment of about 3.693 billion Saudi riyals ($985 million).
Regarding the progress of the joint venture project, JinkoSolar Vice President Qian Jing recently said that the project is due to be operational around the beginning of 2026, and everything is currently on schedule.
"At that time, the first TOPcon cell in the desert will be born from this factory, with an expected efficiency of more than 27%," Qian said.
JinkoSolar's market share in the Middle East exceeds 50% by 2023, and over 70% in Saudi Arabia.
