Asia Tech Wire (Aug 2) -- Chinese PV module maker JA Solar has filed a lawsuit against rival Astronergy for patent infringement in a Munich court.

According to the latest market news, JA Solar has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Astronergy and its European subsidiaries in the Munich local division of the Unified Patent Court (UPC).

JA Solar is accusing Astronergy of infringing one of its European patents, EP2787541 B1, entitled the "Solar Cell", which applies mainly to TOPCon cell technology.

A source close to JA Solar confirms that this is true.

The person said that the company takes intellectual property protection seriously and is in the process of just filing a lawsuit.
