S&P Global launches daily solar module panel price assessments for U.S., Asia, Europe
Jul.19,2024

Asia Tech Wire (July 19) -- S&P Global has launched a daily spot market price assessment of photovoltaic (PV) modules for the U.S., Asia and Europe in light of the recent increase in PV module price volatility.

A combination of import tariffs, oversupply and supply chain costs has led to significant volatility in solar module prices since the beginning of 2023 as demand has grown, the agency said.

The assessment tool will track six different module spot prices, covering different geographic locations, megawatts and time periods.

S&P Global noted that the price assessments reflect solar modules with outputs of 570-720W, with their value expressed as an outright price in U.S. cents per watt.
