Asia Tech Wire (July 18) -- Saudi Arabia will buy up to 100 electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft from German eVTOL maker Lilium.

Lilium said Thursday it has received a firm order for 50 eVTOL jets from Saudia Group, with an option for 50 more.

This is the largest commitment to date by an airline in the eVTOL sector, the press release said.

The companies did not disclose the terms of the deal, but Axios reported that it is worth about $450 million.
