Asia Tech Wire (Aug 9) -- Nvidia-backed cloud computing company CoreWeave Inc. has hired two executives from Oracle and Google in a bid to advance its AI business.
One of the new executives is Chen Goldberg, who previously served as general manager and vice president of engineering at Alphabet's Google and has extensive industry experience and technical background.
Upon joining CoreWeave, Goldberg will serve as senior vice president, responsible for driving the company's technology innovation and business expansion in the field of artificial intelligence.
The other new member is Sachin Jain, who was previously senior vice president of artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure and product management at Oracle.
At CoreWeave, Jain will serve as Chief Operating Officer, leveraging his expertise and experience in AI to support the company's operations and strategic planning.
Founded in 2017, CoreWeave began by focusing on cryptocurrency mining, but in 2018 the company expanded into GPU accelerator business.
Relying on Nvidia graphics cards, CoreWeave has successively picked up big clients such as Microsoft and Google to become one of the world's largest standalone GPU cloud providers, serving customers in a wide range of industries, including visual effects (VFX), artificial intelligence, gaming, and healthcare.
