Asia Tech Wire (Sep 9) -- Elon Musk recently said that his space exploration company SpaceX plans to launch its first uncrewed Starships to Mars within two years.

Musk announced the timeline for SpaceX's new goal on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday.

He said the uncrewed mission is designed to test whether the spacecraft can land on Mars "in one piece".

If the landing goes well, SpaceX will launch a manned mission to Mars within four years, Musk said.
