Asian Tech Press (Nov 29) -- According to media reports, Samsung Display, which has announced that it will withdraw from the LCD panel market, has stopped or reduced production on some of its production lines. Some of its factories have been sold to shift to more advanced panels such as OLED and QD-OLED.
Several companies are interested in buying Samsung Display's L8-1 LCD production line equipment, with Indian companies showing a more vital willingness to buy.
It was reported in May that India plans to invest $20 billion to advance LCD panel projects.
Samsung Display's L8-1 LCD panel production line, which was previously used to produce LCD panels needed for television and other products, was discontinued in the first quarter of this year. After the discontinuation of production, Samsung Display has been preparing to sell the production line equipment.
