Asia Tech Wire (Oct 29) -- Apple Inc's iPhone exports from India grew by a third in the six months through September, according to Bloomberg.
Apple exported nearly $6 billion of Indian-made iPhones in the six months, up a third by value from a year earlier, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter.
Three Apple suppliers - Hon Hai, Pegatron and Tata Electronics - are assembling iPhones in southern India.
Tata Electronics' factory in Karnataka exported iPhones worth about $1.7 billion between April and September, the people said, adding that the amount was the estimated factory gate price, not the retail price.
