Asia Tech Wire (June 4) -- Google's technology infrastructure investment in Singapore has reached $5 billion.

Google on Monday announced the completion of its data center and cloud facilities expansion in Singapore.

This means the U.S. tech giant has invested $5 billion in technology infrastructure in the Asian country.

Google said its data centers in Singapore employ more than 500 people and are responsible for services such as Google Search and Maps.

Google is expanding its infrastructure presence in Southeast Asia. Last week, the company said it would invest $2 billion in Malaysia to develop its first data center in the country.
