App Annie: Americans and British spend more time on TikTok than YouTube

Asian Tech Press (SEP 07) -- According to app analytics firm App Annie, the average time individual spent on TikTok now surpasses YouTube in the U.S. and U.K.

Individual users now spend more time on TikTok on average than on YouTube. YouTube maintains its position as the most-watched video platform overall, mainly due to its large monthly user base.

TikTok, known in China as Douyin, is a video-sharing social networking platform owned by Chinese company ByteDance. TikTok expanded its reach to the global market in late 2017. The app reached 1 billion downloads in January 2019 and has grown rapidly since then. TikTok reached 3 billion downloads in July 2021.
