At TSMC's 2021 Technology Forum, TSMC announced that 4nm trial production is expected to begin in the third quarter of this year, one quarter earlier than previously planned, while the 3nm process will be mass-produced in the second half of 2022 as planned.

At the meeting, TSMC launched a new process technology for automotive chips, N5A, which will be in mass production in the 3rd quarter of next year to meet more contemporary and more enhanced automotive applications.
