Asia Tech Wire (Jan 23) -- Baojun Wu, co-founder and president of Chinese electric vehicle startup Leapmotor (09863.HK), backed by Jeep maker Stellantis N.V., has now left the company, Chinese media outlet Jiemian News reported Tuesday.

The report notes that Leapmotor will no longer have a president position.

Wu joined Leapmotor in May 2020 and is responsible for the company's business development, marketing, manufacturing, and supply chain.

Prior to joining the EV startup, he worked at Peugeot, GAC Honda, GAC Toyota and Urtrust Insurance.

Founded in 2015, Leapmotor, which secured a $1.5 billion investment from Stellantis in late October, plans to start deliveries to the European market in the third quarter of 2024.
