Samsung receives STMicroelectronics MCU foundry order for next-generation iPhone
Dec.17,2021

Asian Tech Press (Dec 17) -- South Korea's Samsung Electronics has received a microcontroller unit (MCU) foundry order from STMicroelectronics, and the components will be used for the next generation of iPhones.

Samsung Electronics will use the 16nm process to OEM microcontroller units for STMicroelectronics, which means that the specifications will be smaller than traditional MCUs.

However, Samsung Electronics has not yet announced the news that they have been awarded the STMicroelectronics micro-control unit foundry order, so the order size is not yet known.

STMicroelectronics is a global electronics and semiconductors company headquartered in Plan-les-Ouates, Switzerland.
