Asia Tech Wire (Oct 18) -- Elon Musk-owned social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, will allow third parties to utilize its user data for artificial intelligence training.
X's update to its terms of service and privacy policy on Wednesday shows that it will allow third-party collaborators to use content on the platform to train their artificial intelligence models unless users opt out.
The policy update, which will take effect from Nov. 15, means that X, like Reddit and various media platforms, is considering licensing data to AI companies as a potential new revenue stream.
Musk had used user data on X to train Grok, an AI model from his AI company xAI, a move that drew investigations from several European privacy regulators.
In early August, X agreed to stop using EU user data to train Grok.
