Asia Tech Wire (Aug 19) -- Tesla CEO Elon Musk's social media company X has decided to shut down its Brazilian operations immediately.

In a post on Saturday, X's global government affairs team said Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes threatened to arrest X's legal representatives in Brazil if X did not comply with its censorship order.

X said it had decided to close its Brazilian operations immediately to protect the safety of its employees, while the Brazilian public would still be able to use X services.
