LG Energy Solution announces first large-scale supply of LFP batteries for electric vehicles

Asia Tech Wire (July 2) -- South Korea's LG Energy Solution announced on Tuesday that it will supply lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries to Renault's electric vehicle unit Ampere from 2025.

The contract, which runs for five years, covers a total capacity of about 39 GWh.

The deal marks LG Energy Solution's first large-scale supply of LFP batteries for electric vehicles.

Ampere announced Monday that it will partner with LG Energy Solution and Chinese battery maker CATL to develop LFP battery technology.
