Asia Tech Wire (Oct 15) -- LG Energy Solution (LGES) announced on Tuesday that it has signed two supply agreements with Ford Motor to power the U.S. automaker's electric commercial vans in Europe.
Under two separate contracts, LGES will supply Ford with 34 gigawatt-hours of batteries from 2026-2030 and 75 gigawatt-hours of batteries from 2027-2032, totaling 109 GWh.
LGES said it plans to produce the batteries for Ford at its plant in Poland starting in 2026.
In this regard, the two companies have also agreed to transfer the production of batteries for the Ford Mustang Mach-E all-electric SUV from the Polish facility to the South Korean firm's Michigan plant in 2025.
