India's major telecom operators raise tariffs

Asian Tech Press (Nov 29) --  Reliance Jio, India's largest telecom operator, has announced a significant increase in its mobile prepaid tariffs, ranging from 19.6% to 21.3%, with the new rates to be implemented from December 1.

Last week, India's two other major operators Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi), had already raised their prepaid mobile tariffs by about 20 percent. The last industry-wide tariff hike occurred in December 2019.
