Asia Tech Wire (Aug 19) -- Indian electric two-wheeler maker Ola recently announced that it will be launching three major series of self-developed chips, namely the Bodhi series of AI chips, the Sarv-1, a server CPU based on the Arm architecture, and the Ojas, an edge AI chip.

The Bodhi series of AI chips are designed for large language model reasoning workloads.

Of these, Bodhi-1 is a low to mid-range product designed to cater to most of the needs of the AI segment, which is expected to reach the market in 2026.

Ola also revealed the next generation AI chip called Bodhi-2, which is expected to hit the market in 2028.

The company said that its AI chip outperforms Nvidia's GPUs in terms of performance and energy efficiency, but did not specify which GPU.

As far as manufacturing is concerned, Ola said it will work with a global Tier 1 or Tier 2 foundry, possibly TSMC or Samsung.
