Asia Tech Wire (June 14) -- California-based electric car maker Faraday Future (NASDAQ: FFIE) is mulling the launch of a second brand, said its Chinese founder YT Jia.

Jia disclosed on Chinese social media platform Weibo earlier Friday that the delivery of the FF 91 2.0 Futurist Alliance to the first individual secondary market investor marked the company's resumption of the Start of Delivery Second Phase (SOD2).

Meanwhile, he said Faraday Future is considering launching a second brand.

Jia also revealed that the company plans to localize the production of mass-release models in the U.S., and has recently been in talks with a number of domestic OEMs about cooperation and sourcing options for parts.
