CrowdStrike denies blame for Delta flight delays

Asia Tech Wire (Aug 6) -- U.S. cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike has denied blame for flight delays on Delta Air Lines following a global IT outage last month.

Delta Air Lines was hit particularly hard last month after a bug in an update to CrowdStrike's security software caused millions of Microsoft Windows devices around the world to malfunction with blue screens.

Delta CEO Ed Bastian previously said the company had no choice but to seek compensation from CrowdStrike, saying the IT outage cost the airline about $500 million.
