Chinese smartphone maker OPPO's overseas sales account for over 60%, exec says

National Business Wire (Jan 8) -- OPPO's overseas sales now account for more than 60% of its sales, an executive of the Chinese smartphone maker said on Monday.

OPPO held a launch event on Monday to officially introduce its flagship OPPO Find X7 series of mobile phones.

Pete Lau, senior vice president and chief product officer of OPPO, revealed at the event that the company now has more than 260,000 stores worldwide, covering more than 60 countries and regions, with more than 600 million users worldwide.

He also disclosed that the company's overseas sales now account for more than 60%.

Lau noted that OPPO, which is in its 20th year of incorporation, has amassed a considerable number of patents globally over the past years, with more than 51,000 patents granted globally.

In addition, the smartphone maker has filed for more than 95,000 patents globally, of which 90% are for inventions, and more than 3,000 in the field of AI.

The executive said OPPO's patent count ranks second in China after Chinese telecom giant Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., and sixth globally.
