Asia Tech Wire (Oct 21) -- Xiaomi Corp. has developed China's first 3nm system-on-chip (SoC) for smartphones, according to state-owned BRTV.

Quoting Tang Jianguo, chief economist of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, Sunday's report said Xiaomi has successfully taped out the country's first 3nm smartphone system-on-chip.

Thomas Wang Teng, deputy general manager of marketing in Xiaomi China and general manager of the Redmi brand, also previously posted that one of the reasons for the price increase of Xiaomi's flagship mobile phone lies in the adoption of the 3nm process, which has significantly increased costs.
