Asian Tech Press (Nov 23) -- Volkswagen Group (China) CEO Stephan Wöllenstein has confirmed his departure to the public, but not for the month of February.

German media Automobilwoche reported in early November that Volkswagen Group plans to replace the head of its China business due to poor business performance in the Chinese market and sales of its electric vehicles not being as expected, among other reasons. Current Volkswagen Group China CEO Stephan Wöllenstein will step down from his current position and leave China on February 1, 2022.

According to media reports, Stephan Wöllenstein said to the public that management changes will take place, including his position in China. He will leave China but not on February 1. The company plans to do another media briefing in January next year, where Stephan Wöllenstein will give a presentation on the results for 2021 and the plans for 2022.
