Asian Tech Press (Dec 03) -- Volkswagen (China) has decided to expand the recall of some imported 2009-2016 Beetle, Scirocco and Golf series vehicles produced between February 6, 2009 and March 3, 2016, a total of 1,540 vehicles, starting from December 3, 2021.

Some of the vehicles within this recall use the upper housing of the electromechanical transmission unit produced by a specific supplier within a certain period. The threads of its fixed accumulator may crack in use and cause a drop in oil pressure, causing the clutch to be uncoupled, resulting in the loss of driving force of the vehicle and posing a safety hazard.
