Samsung announced three new automotive chips to supply VW

Asian Tech Press (Nov 30) -- According to media reports, Samsung Electronics has released new automotive chips for advanced automotive chip needs, one of which has been applied to Volkswagen's infotainment system.

It is reported that the new automotive chips are developed by Samsung Electronics' logic chip design company "System LSI." The first is a 5G communication chip Exynos Auto T5123, the first automotive 5G connectivity solution launched by Samsung Semiconductor, which can download HD video content through 5G network connection; the second is a stable power management chip; in addition, it also includes an infotainment processor, which can simultaneously control 4 displays and 12 cameras infotainment processor. The chip is currently used in LG Electronics' infotainment system for Volkswagen.

In the current rapid expansion of the global electric vehicle market, the demand for high-tech automotive chips is gradually rising. Both Samsung and LG Electronics are increasing their development efforts to occupy the forefront of high-tech chip and component sales.
