Asia Tech Wire (Nov 1) -- Samsung plans to further scale down its foundry production, aiming to reduce operations to around 50% by the end of the year, according to The Chosun Daily.
A report said Samsung's semiconductor division is temporarily shutting down some production lines at its foundries due to weak orders.
Samsung has already shut down more than 30% of its 4-nanometer, 5-nanometer and 7-nanometer production lines at its P2 and P3 plants in Pyeongtaek, the report said, citing sources.
