Asian Tech Press (Oct 29) -- The US government partially terminated the 337 investigation against Chinese display maker BOE Technology Co.

The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) announced on Thursday the partial termination of Section 337 investigation against BOE Technology regarding certain active matrix OLED display devices and components based on a settlement.

The trade regulator voted to initiate the Section 337 investigation in late January of this year.

At the end of December last year, the Irish company Solas OLED Ltd. filed a complaint with the ITC, claiming that OLED products exported to, imported into and sold in the U.S. by some companies owned by BOE Technology and Samsung infringed their patents, and requesting the ITC to issue a limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders.

In the complaint, the following companies are named as defendants:

BOE Technology Group Co. Ltd. of Beijing, China;
Beijing BOE Display Technology Co., Ltd., of Beijing, China;
BOE Technology America Inc. of Santa Clara, CA;
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., of Gyeonggi-do, South Korea;
Samsung Electronics America, Inc., of Ridgefield Park, NJ; and
Samsung Display Co., Ltd., of Gyeonggi-Do, South Korea.
