Asia Tech Wire (Aug 9) -- Apple is considering Samsung Display as the main OLED panel supplier for the new iPad Air due to its larger production capacity compared to rival LG Display.

South Korea's Samsung Display is already supplying OLED panels for the new iPad Pro.

According to market research firm Omdia, Apple's iPad Air lineup is due to begin introducing OLED display panels in 2026, with the iPad mini following in 2027.

However, ETNews and ZDNet Korea said that both models will be upgraded to OLED screens at the same time in 2026, except that Apple may delay the release of the 13-inch model of the OLED iPad Air until 2027.
