According to the latest research from Strategy Analytics, India's smartphone shipments soared 26 percent year-on-year to 39 million units in the first quarter.
Xiaomi, Samsung, and Vivo were the top three vendors in India, with respective market shares of 27 %, 19 %, and 18 % this quarter.
Analysts at Strategy Analytics said that consumer demand for new 4G smartphones surged in the first quarter of this year when India temporarily eased blocking restrictions. Its shipments are expected to fall sharply in the second quarter, and the Indian smartphone market remains highly volatile for now.
