Asia Tech Wire (Oct 14) -- South Korea's semiconductor exports hit a record high of $13.63 billion in September, according to the latest data from the country's Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT).
Information and communication technology (ICT) exports rose 36.3% year-on-year to $22.36 billion in September this year, maintaining an increase for the 11th consecutive month and setting the second-highest single-month record of all time, according to a data released by MSIT on Monday.
Semiconductor exports hit a record high of $13.63 billion, thanks to a wave of artificial intelligence (AI) technology that pushed up server investment.
Over the same period, ICT imports increased by 15.9% to $12.48 billion in South Korea, resulting in a $9.88 billion surplus in the ICT trade balance in September.
