Asia Tech Wire (June 13) -- A subsidiary of Sony Corp. has acquired U.S. theater chain Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.

Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) announced on Wednesday that it had acquired Alamo Drafthouse.

The company's new division, Sony Pictures Experiences, will manage the theater chain.

Alamo Drafthouse CEO Michael Kustermann stays on to lead the new division.
