Asian Tech Press (Dec 09) -- Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa, founder of Japan's largest clothing retailer Zozotown, has arrived on the International Space Station for a 12-day space journey.

Yusaku Maezawa will be joined on the ISS by producer Yozo Hirano and Russian cosmonaut Alexander Misurkin, with Yozo Hirano recording the entire mission.

Yusaku Maezawa entered the ISS aboard a Russian Soyuz spacecraft at 2:38 a.m. EDT. About six hours later, at 8:40 a.m. EDT, they docked with the ISS. They are scheduled to stay on the ISS for about 12 days before returning to Earth on Dec. 19.

Yusaku Maezawa spent about three months training for the mission before heading to the ISS. He said this would finally fulfill his childhood dream.

In addition to this trip to space, Yusaku Maezawa has also booked Elon Musk's SpaceX interstellar spacecraft for a tentative flight around the moon in 2023, which would be the first human trip to the moon since 1972. A crew of eight will then fly to the moon with Yusaku Maezawa.
