Asian Tech Press (OCT 18) -- According to media reports, billionaire Yusaku Maezawa, founder of Japan's largest clothing retail company Zozotown, will enter the International Space Station on December 8 aboard a Russian Soyuz spacecraft for a 12-day space trip.

Producer Yozo Hirano and Russian cosmonaut Alexander Misurkin will be joining Yusaku Maezawa on the International Space Station.

Once Yusaku Maezawa arrives at the International Space Station, he will be the first Japanese tourist to board the station. He reportedly did not disclose the cost of the space trip.

Tom Shelley, president of Space Adventures, said Yusaku Maezawa compiled a list of 100 things to do in space after asking for public input.

In addition to this trip to space, Yusaku Maezawa has also booked Elon Musk's SpaceX interstellar spacecraft for a tentative flight around the moon in 2023. At that time, there will be eight crew members to fly with him to the moon in SpaceX's starship.

Yusaku Maezawa is the first paying passenger to book a trip around the moon aboard SpaceX's Starship. He has already paid for the entire trip, including the travel expenses of the eight crew members.

SpaceX's first Starship passengers will begin their trip around the moon in January 2023, which will last a week.
