Asia Tech Wire (Aug 23) -- Young Liu, chairman of Hon Hai, also known as Foxconn, said there may soon be electric vehicle-related layouts in the U.S. market.
Liu said Friday that the globalization layout has always been the efforts of Hon Hai Group, and in the U.S. market, in addition to the existing products, including AI servers and PC products, it will also lay out new industries.
He said it may soon be possible to see the electric vehicle-related layout in the "3+3" strategy, not just AI servers.
Hon Hai introduced its "3+3" strategy in July 2019 to prioritize three key industries for development and growth: electric vehicles, digital health, and robotics.
The strategy also includes investments in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and next-generation communication technologies.
For the layout in other countries such as India, Liu said it is all in accordance with the local market development, and make appropriate adjustments.
He pointed out that a lot of unannounced investments below NT$300 million have not been seen by the outside world, and these are also Hon Hai's efforts in the global layout.
Liu said the company will make appropriate adjustments in line with the international economic situation.
