Asia Tech Wire (Sep 23) -- Jony Ive, Apple's former design director, has confirmed that he is working with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman on an AI hardware device, according to The Verge.

The project currently has just 10 employees, including two of the key people who worked with Ive on the iPhone - Tang Tan and Evans Hankey.

Ive's independent design firm LoveFrom reportedly handled the design of the device instead.

Ive, who became head of Apple's design studio in 1996, left the company in 2016.
