Asia Tech Wire (Oct 30) -- OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar disclosed that 75% of the total company's revenue comes from consumer subscriptions.
Friar said in an interview with Bloomberg on Monday that ChatGPT already has 250 million weekly active users with a paid conversion rate of 5-6%.
Like other AI companies, OpenAI generates revenue primarily by attracting paid users.
At present, about 75% of the company's business comes from user subscriptions, which start at $20 a month, Friar said. And in September, OpenAI said that the paid subscribers for the enterprise version of ChatGPT surpassed 1 million.
Earlier this month, OpenAI closed a new $6.6 billion funding round and secured a $4 billion revolving credit facility, giving the company total liquidity of more than $10 billion.
