EV maker Faraday Future settles over unpaid rent on California headquarters

Asia Tech Wire (Apr 9) -- U.S. electric car maker Faraday Future (NASDAQ:FFIE) said it reached a settlement with its landlord over delinquent rent payments on its California headquarters building.

A few days ago, news broke that Faraday Future, an electric car company that Chinese entrepreneur YT Jia founded in the U.S., faced a lawsuit over nearly a million dollars in unpaid lease payments.

Afterward, the company reached an agreement with its landlord to stay in the building as long as it met some conditions.

Faraday Future confirmed the authenticity of the news on Tuesday, saying that the two sides had reached a settlement, but that it was not convenient to disclose the details of the agreement.

Faraday Future said Monday that the company completed the release of a remote OTA software update that corrects a potential safety risk identified in a previous active recall.

In early March, Faraday Future announced a recall of all 11 units of the FF 91 2.0 it produced last year after identifying a system failure in the airbag control unit.
