Jan.13,2022

Asian Tech Press (Jan 13) -- Apple Inc. is choosing suppliers for its electric vehicles, having discussed the supply of electric car batteries with LG and SK last month, according to South Korean media outlet ETNews.

The report said that Apple is looking for a number of automotive electronic component manufacturers with mass production experience to supply core parts for so-called "Apple Car", the U.S. smartphone giant's electric vehicles product.

Apple staff members visited South Korea last month to meet with some local parts suppliers. It was also the second time Apple visited South Korean suppliers since last summer.

The company is also reported to have discussed with LG and SK about the supply of batteries for electric vehicles.

The U.S. smartphone maker is expected to complete its selection of auto parts suppliers by the end of 2022, followed by a full development, public announcement and mass production launch in the next two to three years.
