Carlyle said to buy auto component makers in India

Asia Tech Wire (Sep 23) -- Private equity firm Carlyle Group is proposing to acquire auto component makers in India, according to Mint.

Citing people familiar with the matter, the report said Carlyle is setting up a $400 million platform in India for acquiring and merging auto parts manufacturers.

Carlyle is likely to acquire at least two component makers by the end of the current fiscal year and two more in the next 12-18 months, the people revealed.

The investment firm will reportedly focus on electric vehicle companies and export-led companies.
